Buying beauty equipment for a US, UK or EU salon starts with the exact model, intended use and destination. Compare the supplied configuration, verify the relevant documents and calculate delivery and service costs before placing an order. A catalog listing alone does not establish that a machine can be supplied or used in your location.

What should I confirm before comparing machines?

  1. Name the intended services and who will operate the equipment.
  2. Request the exact model, manufacturer identity, label photograph and included-accessory list.
  3. Ask for the matching manual and available destination-specific documentation.
  4. Have the responsible importer or qualified local adviser verify the applicable requirements for that model and use.
  5. Compare itemized delivery, consumables, training and repair responsibilities.

Do not select equipment solely by an “in-1” number. Our hydro facial selection guide explains how to compare actual handpieces and workflow.

United States: does “FDA registered” mean a device is approved?

No. FDA explains that establishment registration and device listing do not denote approval, clearance or authorization, and that it does not issue device registration certificates. A supplier's registration document alone does not answer whether the specific device can be marketed for the proposed use. Read the FDA explanation.

Ask the supplier to identify the exact device and the basis for its claimed US market status, with supporting records for verification. Do not accept documents for a different model or assume that a visually similar machine has the same status. Separately confirm operator and premises requirements with the appropriate local authority.

United Kingdom: why does the delivery location matter?

For medical devices, MHRA guidance distinguishes Great Britain from Northern Ireland. Identify which destination applies before checking the relevant conformity, registration and responsible-person arrangements. Do not assume one generic “UK certificate” answers every requirement. Check the current MHRA guidance.

Include the delivery postcode, intended use and model when requesting documents. Ask who will handle importing, installation if required and any repairs. A UK-targeted website page does not establish UK stock, a local service team or authorization for a particular machine.

European Union: does “non-medical beauty equipment” avoid device rules?

Not necessarily. The European Commission explains that the Medical Devices Regulation covers certain products without an intended medical purpose listed in Annex XVI. The applicable requirements depend on the product and its intended purpose; this is not a claim that every beauty machine falls into that group. Read the Commission's Annex XVI overview.

State the member country and intended use. Request the applicable conformity documentation for the exact manufacturer and model, then have its scope checked. Also confirm the instructions and labeling needed for the destination. A CE logo in a product image is not enough information to complete this assessment.

How can I compare delivered cost without hidden assumptions?

Ask for separate amounts for the machine, options, packing, freight and insurance, with written delivery terms and named responsibilities for destination charges. Provide a city and postcode rather than only a country. Confirm packed dimensions and gross weight before requesting freight estimates.

Use the total-cost worksheet to compare quotations on the same basis. Unconfirmed charges should remain unconfirmed, not be counted as zero. No fixed duties, shipping prices or arrival dates are implied here.

What support should an overseas salon request?

For laser equipment and HIFU machines, request model-specific handpiece or cartridge documentation. Generic demonstrations cannot replace the manufacturer's instructions or required operator training.

What should I send with my enquiry?

Copy this brief: destination country and postcode; business setting; intended services; model links; quantity; required accessories; documentation questions; preferred training language; and delivery and repair requirements. Send a model-specific procurement enquiry.

ROVANCHY can use those details to clarify the requested configuration and available supplier information. This guide does not assert that any catalog model is authorized for a specific market, or promise local stock, installation or certification. Regulatory source links were reviewed on 2 November 2026; check the current guidance when evaluating an order.
