Before Your First Hydro Facial Client: A Salon Preparation Checklist
By ROVANCHY Editorial · Published

A smooth hydro facial appointment starts before the client arrives. Confirm the exact equipment configuration, prepare a clean workstation and agree on a suitable plan with a trained operator. This guide helps organize those tasks; it does not prescribe treatment settings.
1. Build a model-specific equipment folder
Keep the instructions for use, supplied-accessory list, training records and maintenance instructions together. Check that the manual matches the model and version on the equipment. A brochure explains what a supplier advertises; it is not a substitute for operating instructions.
For the supplier-listed VY-8055, useful identification points include a 15-inch touchscreen and four bottles labelled A, B, C and D. These letters do not tell you which liquid belongs in each bottle. Obtain the manufacturer's written bottle assignment and approved-fluid instructions before filling them.
2. Check the workstation before welcoming anyone
Use the manufacturer's pre-use checklist to inspect the unit, cables, connectors and accessories. Keep access routes clear and arrange the controls so the operator can reach them without crossing the client. If a part is damaged, missing or unfamiliar, resolve it before the appointment rather than improvising.
Set out only the accessories required by the agreed plan. Keep processed accessories separate from used items. Toronto Public Health describes separation of clean and used equipment as part of its instrument-reprocessing guidance; local requirements and your equipment instructions still apply.
3. Make the consultation useful
Ask what the client wants to understand or improve. The trained practitioner should complete the model-specific suitability assessment and discuss relevant history, limitations and alternatives. Explain the proposed steps and invite questions before starting. A multifunction device is not a reason to use every attachment.
Suggested wording: “We will explain the steps selected for you and check how you feel throughout. Please tell us immediately if anything feels uncomfortable or if you want us to stop.” This is a communication example, not a promise that a procedure is suitable or risk-free.
4. Prepare the handover before the treatment
Have the practitioner-approved aftercare information and a contact method ready. Ask the client to repeat the main instructions in their own words so you can identify anything unclear. Record the actual services provided and any concerns according to your privacy and recordkeeping process.
